Mid-market housing bridges the gap between social housing and private renting. It is a form of affordable housing, with tenants paying less than the normal market rent level in the area, although rents are higher than what a tenant would expect to pay for social housing.
Our mid-market properties tend to be let to people in full-time employment who are finding it hard to be allocated a general needs property but can afford a rent that is more in line with the private rented sector. These properties have their own criteria and are not allocated in the same way as our general needs housing. Properties come with white goods, carpets and curtains.
